Tell us about yourself:
I am an Aussie! Australian born and raised, I grew up in the southern states (cold Victoria) but for the past 15 years I have lived in sunny Brisbane, Queensland with my husband and son.
As a trained and practicing Clinical Hypnotherapist, I am passionate about personal growth and since my teens I have attended many personal development seminars and studied a range of modalities. I am a Master Practitioner in NLP, trained in the Fertile Body Method, Fertility Hypnosis and Hypnobirthing practitioner, specializing in birth trauma.
Why did you become a RTA-Certified Facilitator?
Through all the years I’ve been working with women and mothers–and since I became a mother myself–I’ve noticed most of us don’t look after ourselves like we should.
When I saw the need for more self-care support for women, I began running my own classes and small programs until I came across Renee’s RTA-Certified Facilitator and Personal Renewal Group Program and thought – this is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do! I think most women underestimate the value of self-care, so I really want to help change that.
How has this work changed or affected you?
For me, working with women in the self-care space helps me always be vigilant about walking my talk; I can’t help others if I’m not focusing on my own self-care.
This work also matters deeply to me because I think as women and mothers we can’t possibly raise our children to be healthy, happy and emotionally whole if we aren’t in that place, too. Helping women to embrace, love and respect themselves is such powerful transformative work. I believe that through supporting women and mothers, we are literally transforming the future of our world as women heal themselves (and therefore their children). This is really what I get out of bed to do each day!
What are your favorite self-care activities?
Yoga is a big part of my regular self care routine, even if its only for 5 minutes, some mornings. Yoga helps me be clearer, more focused and more present and in-tune with my body.
I also love my mindfulness coloring books. Plus when I sit down to use them, my son always wants to color with me, so we both get some quiet time!
On a less frequent basis I really enjoy reflexology – It’s an enjoyable way to help both my mind and body release.
