Tell us about yourself:
I live in Buda, TX right outside of Austin with my husband Shaw and our 3 middle school-aged children, Trevor, 13, Reagan, 12 and Ethan, 11. I was introduced to Renee and the concept of self-care in 2011. At that time, self-care was absolutely foreign, but I knew immediately that this practice would change my life and support me in “being true to myself” (the mantra my mom gave me at an early age).
Why did you become a RTA-Certified Facilitator?
I became a RTA-Certified Facilitator to teach what it is that I most want to learn: vulnerability, self-care, honesty and a deep connection to my inner wisdom. I was yearning for relationships that foster depth, inquiry and aligned with my truth. Looking back it’s clear that I was searching for my tribe and through this amazing program, I was able to find it.
How has this work changed or affected you?
I am often reminded that, “You don’t know, what you don’t know.” The Personal Renewal Group (PRG) Program and Kripalu Retreats (I’ve attended three!) have opened my eyes to a world that I had always desired but did not know existed. For 11 years, I dreamed of a judgment free zone, where women like myself would be able to let go, laugh, dance, cry and whole-heartedly support each other. The first time I led a PRG, there was no doubt that I had found my passion and purpose for this stage of my life. It is such an honor to do this work!
What are your favorite self-care activities?
I love dancing from the heart, smiling at strangers, putting my bare feet onto the earth, meditation and conscious breathing. Breath work is FREE and so freeing—it’s a form of self-care that is simple, easy, and immediately accessible to all! The mantra, “less is more,” is a personal favorite, too. Learning to tap into what feeds my soul is a never ending journey.
How can people contact you or learn about your groups/retreats?
