Tell us about yourself?
My family and I live in Austin, TX. We have one son, Kaden, who is 3 1/2 years old. I am an Occupational Therapist and work on a part time basis for St David’s Rehab Hospital andThe Center for Music Therapy.
Why did you become a Personal Renewal Group (PRG) Facilitator?
My greatest hope and vision as a Personal Renewal Group Facilitator is to bring the practice of self care into the health care sector. I believe with all of my heart that you must take care of yourself in order to provide for others. I hope to encourage and empower health care professionals, moms, caregivers and patients to begin taking small steps towards nurturing themselves. While the concept of self-care may feel radical for some, most of us feel comfortable with the idea of starting with baby steps.
How has the PRG work changed or affected you?
My greatest lessons so far with The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal and the Personal Renewal Group Program, have been to remember to be gentle with myself, allow time and space for things to unfold as they should–even when there is much fear about the unknown–and to practice listening to my heart and inner wisdom.
What are your favorite self-care activities?
My favorite self care activities include hiking with my family on Austin’s beloved greenbelt trails, Kundalini Yoga, biking, and swimming.
