Spring 2025 Women’s Empowerment Communications Internship

Past communications interns are now employed at: Apple, The Conference for Women, The Center for Women in Law, Shell Oil, GSD&M, Dell, Whole Foods Market, Retail Me Not, IBM, the United Nations, national nonprofit organizations and top local and national advertising and public relations agencies.
2025 internship projects may include: social media, event coordination, writing/editing newsletters and web content, helping to launch a new web site, PR and assisting in national marketing campaigns depending on intern’s time/availability. Primary role is social media/event marketing to begin.

Position Details:
Title: Communications Assistant (internship)
Date posted: Nov. 5th— interviewing is ongoing.
Internship start/end date: Jan 1. – May 30th (ideally intern would continue through the summer)
Organization: Renee Trudeau & Associates: www.ReneeTrudeau.com, a global coaching/consulting firm. We have been mentoring/guiding young professionals and interns for 25 years.
Internship hours: Minimum of 3-5 hours/week
Office location: Asheville/Brevard, NC. Internship is hybrid. Intern will meet with team weekly virtually and have the opportunity to attend events in person in NC.
Intern reports to: Renee Peterson Trudeau, owner and president and Audri Van Gores, our Communications Coordinator. Works with ad agency/team as needed.
Compensation: Opportunity for a performance-based stipend at the end of this internship if you continue through August. Career and job search mentoring and coaching through our sister company Career Strategists (personal branding, resume, interview, salary negotiation, contact/referral connections and career strategy) and Renee Trudeau & Assoc. (valued at $5,000+). Professional development and training paid for; may attend all our online events at no cost; wellness/yoga classes covered in Brevard. Requirements: Seeking a self-motivated, responsible, mature, tech-savvy, reliable junior or senior PR or communications student with social media experience. Prior communications internship experience is ideal.
Title: Communications Assistant—intern is part of a local/national team.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include executing our 2025 social media calendar (we have a highly effective template/plan and editorial calendar we coach you on) and social media engagement. Also, assisting with a national women’s conference we are producing and other marketing communications activities, as able.

She is a former advisory board member for Women in Communications, Austin, and is a past PRSA and WCA board member.
