(Video) How Well Do I Know Myself?
Last week I asked myself, “Are you seeing things as they are or are you seeing things as you are?” Knowing ourselves: how we’re wired, how we respond to stress and what we need to feel our best, is integral to self-care and being able to express our needs to others.
If you were coming to visit me at my cabin in Western North Carolina and in preparation for our visit, and I asked you, “So, tell me about how you’re feeling and what your body, mind and spirit need during your upcoming vacation?” What would you say?
When I teach men/women the art and science of self-care, one of the first steps of their journey is to truly understand who they are and what they need. Does self-awareness feel foreign to you? Check out my popular post Get Real. How Well Do You Know Yourself?
I’ve found the more deeply I know and accept myself, the more open, flexible and compassionate I am with others, and with myself. “We do not think ourselves into new ways of living, we live ourselves into new ways of thinking.”―
