Ready to re-structure your life in 2020?
Last week I gathered with my extended family for Christmas. We had a wonderful experience (read more on tips for staying sane at family gatherings) thanks in part to entering the day intentionally. I was hosting this year, so in true Renee form, I proposed we focus on the theme of emotional self-care.
We wove the concept of emotional self-care into our celebration in various ways: our Secret Santa adult gift exchange, the creation of a rest and renewal room for the adults to get away for quick respites (we had 7 kids present) and when everyone arrived, we asked them to write a quality on their name tag that they wanted to “bring to the party” (understanding, love, peace and fun were in attendance). Additionally, I bought twelve beautiful journals for the adults for 2020 visioning and tucked the following guided journaling exercise at the front of each one.
I thought you might enjoy journaling along with us. Happy New Year and I hope to be with you soon (check out my just announced 1/31 one-day TX retreat). With joy and gratitude for your presence in my life!
~ Guided Journaling: Releasing 2019 & and Restructuring 2020 ~
RELEASING 2019
What experience or incident from 2019 was most challenging for you and what did you learn from this?
What wisdom, new way of being or understanding are you bringing forth from 2019 and integrating into 2020?
Let it go! What do you desire to permanently leave behind from the past year or decade (behaviors, habits, patterns) that no longer serve you?
VISIONING 2020
Project into this new year (and decade)–what state of being would you like to cultivate in 2020? Describe/envision yourself—almost as if you’re painting a portrait of your life. As you step into this new decade: How do you show up in the world? How do you relate to/interact with others? How do you manage your energy? Care for yourself and come into balance? What are words that describe your vision for yourself?
You are the architect of your life. Many are feeling called to restructure, re-design and re-imagine our lives in this new year and decade. What structure—personally and professionally—will support you in thriving, prospering and coming into greater alignment? What type of foundation, rooms or structures must be present (ex: agility to make changes easily or flexibility that supports a 4-day work week) in this new structure?
