(Video) Are You Standing in Allegiance to Yourself?

Do you ever say yes, when you mean, no? Do you over-schedule, scatter your energy and spread yourself too thin? Do you refrain from speaking up in a group situation for fear of making others feel “less than?”
For years I worked as a volunteer with a national girls empowerment organization. So often I watched girls step in and out of their personal power by shrinking (read more). It was painful to see how the young women tried to please through accommodating the feelings of those around them--at the cost of their own needs and desires.
When we don’t speak our truth and “have our own backs,” we don’t just hurt ourselves–we create a culture that is out of integrity.
This week I’m exploring how, where and when I step in an out of alignment with myself (are my words matching my internal experience?) by exploring the question, “Am I standing in allegiance to myself?”
