(Video) Why Slowing Down is a Superpower
“If we would just slow down, happiness would catch up to us.” ―
Feel like everything is moving really fast? Me, too. When I feel my breathing speed up and my chest tighten, it’s a signal I’m allowing my external environment to affect my internal state. And, it’s time to breathe, pause and re-assess how I want to be. When I was a communications executive in my 30s and running around like a chicken with its head cut off, my wise therapist, Frances, used to tell me, “Beware of a sense of urgency!”
Every Monday after my workout in the forest, I offer up a “Live Inside Out” question or reminder to help me slow down and live more intentionally. Join me this week as I explore why slowing down is a superpower.
