(Video) How Can You Release Anxiety (3 ways to begin)?
“Perhaps the biggest tragedy of our lives is that freedom is possible, yet we can pass our years trapped in the same old patterns.” Tara Brach, author of Radical Acceptance
This week, I’m getting real about anxiety and anchoring back to three things that help me come home to myself –almost immediately. Check out my 3-minute video as I share body-based practices for releasing anxiety and finding your center:
I touched on several resources in this video including the Vagus Nerve Deep Relaxation Breathing Technique and recommendations for conscious movement (check out the list of options here on my Wild Souls Authentic Movement page).
I’m also a big fan of cold water plunges to activate the Vagus nerve and re-set the nervous system (read more in this New York Times article on the effects of cold plunges). I find even a few minutes of immersing my feet in a chilly river helps me feel like a new person! I’d love to hear how you release anxiety and get grounded. Join me for my June 17th mini retreat and Sept. 15-17 NC weekend retreat where you’ll learn more nurturing practices for feeling calm and regulating your nervous system in everyday life. Be kind to yourself, it’s a hard time to be a human.
