(Video) Am I Comfortable with Polarities?
Years ago, I started a nonprofit initiative in Austin, TX that focused on supporting parents of teens. Here’s the lament that I heard regularly when one of our parent’s children was struggling: “It’s so hard for me to feel joy or happiness when my child is suffering.” I was raising a teenage boy at the time and could relate.
Then, one day when my heart was feeling particularly heavy around a parenting challenge, I attended a conscious movement class. In the midst of tears and dancing, something inside me shifted; out of nowhere I suddenly felt joy and delight moving through my body. “How is this possible?” I thought. Then I remembered: many things can be true at once. Watch (2 min. video): Am I Comfortable with Polarities?
Want more? Read Many Things are True at Once. I’d love to hear where you notice polarities in your body (the issues are in the tissues) and your life. Drop me a line. And if this topic resonates, please share my blog. It just might help bring a little hope to a friend that could use this reminder. It’s a hard time to be a human; we’re all in this together.
